Who we are

Making period products and menstrual education accessible for everyone.

Period Matters originally began life as The Homeless Period Wolverhampton launched in January 2018 by our founder Clare Roberts-Molloy, and becoming a registered charity in 2019.

Initially focusing on women experiencing homelessness, we soon realised the extent of period poverty being experienced by women and girls across Wolverhampton and extended our services to support anyone in need. The rest as they say is history!

Since we launched, our team of amazing volunteers has steadily grown and we have gained the support of many organisations and partners across the city. Our Board of trustees is dedicated to collecting and distributing menstrual products to women and girls who are experiencing period poverty in the city and making a real difference in Wolverhampton.

Our new Periods Matter brand demonstrates the breadth of work we now undertake and our wider menstrual activism to reduce period poverty, not only in Wolverhampton, but across the Black Country and as part of a wider national network of period poverty organisations.

Our story

January 2018

Our founder, Clare Roberts-Molloy, became passionate about reducing period poverty after reading many heartbreaking stories and The Homeless Period - Wolverhampton was born.

June 2018

Realising the demand for our services were above and beyond expectations, we expanded our support to the wider community, formalised as a not-for-profit and developed our Board of Trustees.

May 2019

Given the increase in our growth and activities and the increased demand for our services, we felt we needed to formalise our organisation and on the 14th May 2019 we became a registered charity and CIO.

November 2020

We moved to our current offices at Sunbeam Studios, which enabled us to expand our operations and begin developing our programme of workshops.

March 2022

After consultation with our supporters and services users we officially rebranded as PeriodsMatter.

Same great service, same great team!

We’ve been on the move again and this time we’re delighted to have become the latest tenants at The Workspace at All Saints Action Networks.

We can’t wait for you to visit!!
